Isaiah 42:5. LBSS testifies that God has revealed Himself in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and these three persons are the One, True God of Deuteronomy 6:4. LBSS believes both the Old and New Testament support the triune nature of the Godhead.
LBS testifies that the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is the inerrant, infallible and authoritative Word of God. LBSS believes that only the Bible is divinely inspired and as such is where man, Jew and Gentile must turn for guidance, growth, reproof, correction and instruction concerning God’s will for mankind, II Peter 1:20-21; II Timothy 3:16.
LBS testifies that Jesus, the Messiah, was both fully human and fully divine. He is the fulfillment of the promised Messiah Redeemer for mankind first mentioned in Genesis 3:15 as the seed of the woman. LBS believes both the Old and New Testament reveal the virgin birth of Jesus of Nazareth; that He is the Promised Messiah; the suffering servant; the reigning King of Israel. LBSS believes in and works to prepare the way for His soon and second coming.
LBS testifies that man’s disobedience to God’s revealed will has caused a separation between man and God, Genesis 2:16-17; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 5:12. LBSS believes that the only provision God made for reconciling man to Himself was through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, the Messiah, who took the penalty for mankind’s sin and disobedience upon Himself. He was crucified and rose again on the third day, manifesting His victory over sin and death. Every single O.T. prophecy predicting His life, death and resurrection was literally and perfectly fulfilled, Leviticus 17:11; Isaiah 53:6; I Corinthians 15:57; II Corinthians 5:19; I Peter 1:18-21; II Timothy 1:10.
LBS testifies there is no other name under heaven by which man, both Jew and Gentile, may be reconciled to the Father Acts 4:12; Psalm 2:1-12. LBSS believes that all who repent from sin and accept God’s gift of salvation in Jesus, the Messiah, are born of the Holy Spirit. Faith in Jesus as the Mediator to the New Covenant makes a person a true child of God, Jeremiah 31:13-34; Ezekiel 36:26-27; John 1:11-13; Hebrews 2:10-18; 7:20-25.
LBS testifies of the empowerment, presence, work and personal partnership with the Person of the Holy Spirit to lead believers moment by moment throughout their lives. He has been sent to the earth to speak to believers and guide them on paths of righteousness for Messiah Jesus’ Namesake. The Holy Spirit also manifests His gifts, power and authority through believers who ask to receive Him and assent to serve as they are led by Him. Partnership with the Person of the Holy Spirit empowers the Church to become a supernatural community of love and service, Romans 12; 8:1-4; I Corinthians 12; Galatians 5:22-23.
